What is Yoga Therapy?

  • Yoga Therapy assists in managing the effects of disease and
discomfort through adaptive physical activity, breathing and
    relaxation techniques.

  • Through yoga therapy individuals become empowered to manage
and sustain their own sense of well-being by activating a sense of
    strength, stability, restfulness and composure.

  • Yoga Therapy can be offered individually or in a group setting.
It delivers safe practices, is adaptive for all age groups, abilities and
    cultures.

  • Yoga acts as a compliment to traditional treatments and should
    accompany long-standing methods.

  • Research provides evidence for yoga therapy practices to support
pain management, depression, anxiety and stress, grief, trauma, addiction, oncology, MS, traumatic brain injuries, cardiac/pulmonary issues, parkinson’s, rheumatoid arthritis,
infertility, menopause, alzheimer’s, type-2 diabetes, fibromyalgia,
chronic fatigue, childhood autism and palliative care among other mental and physical health conditions.

What is Meditation?

  • Mediation can help achieve a mentally clear, emotionally calm and stable state.

  • Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, visualization or activity.

  • Techniques can include methods of breathing practices, hand positions, affirmations, mantra recitation and sound to help achieve a sense of stillness within the body, mind and spirit.

  • Current research suggests that consistent meditation can help manage stress, ease anxiety, lower blood pressure, slow your heart rate, balance emotions and help improve sleep and digestion.

  • Slowing down and practicing mindfulness will enrich your life and ultimately makes you more productive.
